Michael S. McLay, MD

Dr. Michael McLay grew up in Springville, Utah and is delighted to return to his hometown to practice medicine. He is a well-rounded physician who enjoys all aspects of family medicine and continued learning. He has a particularly devoted interest in delivering babies, taking care of children, performing dermatologic procedures, sports medicine, and preventative medicine (including well-adult and well-child exams).

Prior to attending Brigham Young University, Dr. McLay lived and served for two years in the Southern part of France. This experience fostered his love for people. During and upon graduating from BYU with a BS in Human Biology, he worked as a Youth Counselor for the Utah State Department of Corrections for 5 years. Dr. McLay also worked for Nebo School District (Springville and Spanish Fork high schools) as a Special Education Para-Educator for eight years.

Because he values education and believes in pursuing dreams, Dr. McLay decided to go back to school to become a physician. He and his family had a remarkable experience while attending medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine. His adventures throughout medical school, clinical rotations, and residency landed him in the Caribbean (Dominica), Miami, New York City, and back here in Utah County. Dr. McLay was honored to complete his residency training at the Family Practice Residency at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where during his last year he was one of the chief residents.

Dr. McLay is married and has three wonderful children. In addition to spending as much time with his family as possible, he enjoys camping, fishing, playing sports, biking, skiing, and photography.
